What is Vion Signage?
Vion Signage is a professional digital signage solution based on Raspberry Pi 5. It automatically plays images, videos, web pages, and live content. It can be managed remotely via the cloud and set up in 5 minutes.
Which industries is it suitable for?
Vion Signage has a wide range of applications. It can be used in retail stores for promotions and price lists, in restaurants and cafes for menu boards. It’s ideal for office information screens and meeting room status displays. Educational institutions use it for announcement boards, and the healthcare sector employs it for patient information systems. In the hospitality and tourism industry, it’s perfect for event schedules, weather updates, and news displays.
How is it different from traditional digital signage systems?
Our biggest differentiators are cost and ease of setup. We offer a solution at 90% lower cost than traditional systems, with a setup time of just 5 minutes (compared to 2-4 hours for traditional systems). No technician is required, as it’s completely self-service. Dual monitor support is built-in, requiring no additional hardware. Its open-source nature eliminates vendor lock-in, and the system updates automatically.
What is Raspberry Pi? Is it reliable?
Raspberry Pi is a mini-computer developed by the UK-based Raspberry Pi Foundation, with over 50 million units sold worldwide. It’s widely used in industrial applications and designed for 24/7 operation.
Is an internet connection mandatory?
An internet connection is required during setup and must be established via Wi-Fi. However, during normal operation, the device continues to play content offline if the connection is lost. For remote management and content updates, a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection is required.
How long does setup take?
5 minutes! You send Wi-Fi details via a QR code using the mobile app, and the system configures itself automatically.
Is technical knowledge required?
No technical knowledge is needed! The setup is designed to be completely self-service. Just plug the device into power, connect the HDMI cable to a monitor, scan the QR code with the mobile app, and enter your Wi-Fi details. It’s that simple!
Which monitors is it compatible with?
It’s fully compatible with all monitors, TVs, and projectors with an HDMI input. It supports 1080p, 1440p, and 4K resolutions. The system automatically detects horizontal and vertical orientation, and mirror mode activates automatically when two monitors are connected.
How does BYOD setup work?
For BYOD setup, download the Vion OS operating system and flash it onto an SD card using Raspberry Pi Imager. Insert the SD card into the Raspberry Pi 5, start the system, and follow the QR code setup process. The entire process is supported with step-by-step guides.
What does the Vion Player package include? (Coming Soon)
The Vion Player package includes a Raspberry Pi 5 (8GB RAM), a professional case with a cooling fan, a pre-configured 64GB high-speed SD card, a 27W USB-C premium power adapter, a 2-meter HDMI cable, and a detailed setup guide. It’s ready to use right out of the box.
Is post-setup configuration required?
No additional configuration is needed! The system automatically detects the optimal resolution, activates mirror mode for dual monitors, establishes a cloud connection, and starts playing the first scene. Just sit back and enjoy.
How does pricing work?
We offer two options. With the BYOD option, you bring your own device and pay a software fee starting at $8 per screen per month. The Vion Player option will be available soon.
Why is there a monthly fee?
The monthly fee covers the cloud management platform, unlimited content updates, automatic system updates, email support, and backup & restore services. This allows you to manage your device remotely, store content securely, and access the latest features.
Is there a discount for annual payments?
Yes! We offer a 20% discount for annual payments.
Are there discounts for multiple devices?
Yes! We offer attractive discounts for multiple devices: 15% for 10 or more devices, 25% for 50 or more devices. For over 100 devices, we provide custom pricing. Contact us for special offers.
Is there a free trial period?
Yes! We offer a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and bank transfers (for corporate customers).
Which file formats are supported?
Supported image formats include JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and SVG. Video formats include MP4, AVI, MOV, WebM, and MKV. Web pages, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with responsive designs are fully supported. Live content includes YouTube, Vimeo, IP cameras, and RSS feeds.
What is the video quality like?
We support up to 4K (3840×2160) resolution. Smooth 60 FPS playback is provided, with hardware acceleration using GPU decode. H.264 and H.265 codecs are fully supported.
How does dual monitor support work?
Dual monitor support operates in mirror mode, displaying the same content on both monitors. The system automatically detects monitors and works in plug-and-play mode. Optimal resolution is selected for monitors with different resolutions, and no additional hardware is required.
How does scene management work?
Scene management operates on a playlist model, with content played sequentially. You can set custom durations for each piece of content. Scheduling features allow different content to be played at specific times.
Does it work offline?
Yes! If the internet connection is lost, the device continues playing local content. The last scene loop is preserved, and synchronization resumes automatically when the connection is restored.
How are remote updates performed?
Remote updates can be done via the web dashboard or mobile app. Real-time updates are supported, and you can perform bulk updates across multiple devices.
How many devices can I manage?
Unlimited! You can manage thousands of devices from a single dashboard.
Is group management possible?
Yes! You can group devices by location (branch, floor, department), content type (menu, promotion, information), or schedule (morning, afternoon, evening).
How do I get technical support?
You’ll receive a response within 24 hours via email support. Comprehensive online guides, step-by-step video tutorials, and a user community forum are available. Optionally, we offer a premium support package with phone and priority support.
What are the system requirements?
Minimum requirements are a Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB RAM), 32GB SD card (Class 10), an HDMI-supported monitor, and an internet connection for setup. For optimal performance, we recommend a Raspberry Pi 5 (8GB RAM), 64GB high-speed SD card, a 4K-supported monitor, and Ethernet + Wi-Fi connection.
How frequent are updates?
Security updates are applied automatically weekly. Feature updates are released monthly, and major releases occur every 3-6 months. Hotfixes for critical issues are released as needed.
My device won’t turn on, what should I do?
Check the power adapter connection, ensure the SD card is properly inserted, and verify the HDMI cable connection. Confirm the red LED is on. If the issue persists, contact our support team.
Wi-Fi connection isn’t working?
Ensure the QR code was scanned correctly and the Wi-Fi password is accurate. Confirm you’re using a 2.4GHz network (5GHz is not supported). Check if the device is in hotspot mode.
Content isn’t playing?
Verify the file format is supported and check the internet connection. Ensure the scene duration isn’t too short and check the device status on the dashboard.
I’m experiencing performance issues?
Check the SD card quality. If playing 4K videos, try 1080p. Verify if too much content is playing simultaneously and ensure system updates are applied.
